Yeungnam University RISE-MEGA Autonomous Driving Competition with Reinforcement Learning

AICASTLE carried out the operation of Yeungnam University’s RISE-MEGA “Autonomous Driving Competition with Reinforcement Learning.” In this program, held November 14–22, participating students progressed from reinforcement learning theory and AWS DeepRacer hands-on training to competing on a real track with autonomous driving models they trained themselves.

The curriculum covered the fundamentals of reinforcement learning, reward function design, and simulation-based model training step by step, and through practice runs students experienced deploying simulation-trained models to real vehicles. In the final competition, teams raced their completed autonomous driving models to demonstrate what they had learned.

AICASTLE managed the entire education–practice–competition pipeline, contributing to strengthening regional university students’ practical AI and autonomous driving capabilities.
