Konyang University Lecture

From January 2 to January 11, Konyang University offered a course titled “Autonomous Vehicle Expert Training Course,” which received considerable attention and concluded successfully. Designed for Konyang University students, the course focused on fostering a practical understanding of autonomous driving and AI technologies through both theory and hands-on practice.

This program used AWS DeepRacer, an autonomous-driving vehicle platform from the global cloud service provider AWS, offering participants the chance to train AI models and compete using an actual self-driving car. Students became deeply engaged in the learning process by designing and optimizing their own autonomous driving algorithms, gaining practical, industry-relevant experience.

The training featured a comprehensive, three-part structure of theory, practice, and competition. After learning the basic concepts of autonomous driving and the principles of AI, students proceeded to programming exercises and then participated in hands-on sessions with the AWS DeepRacer vehicles. On the final day, a racing competition was held, during which students tested their self-developed autonomous driving models against one another.

According to a university representative, “This course offered students a valuable opportunity to enhance their understanding of AI and autonomous vehicle technologies, while gaining real-world experience. We expect it will improve both academic growth and competitiveness in actual industry settings.” The AWS DeepRacer-based Autonomous Vehicle Expert Training Course is recognized as an important step toward advancing future technologies and workforce development in both academia and industry.
